Time 2

Jean-Michel Basquiat, Beat Bop, 1983, album cover (front and back), Tartown Records, 12 ½ × 12 ½ inches (32 × 32 cm)

Time 2

It’s the second time this year.

How many times will you rush in?

As if the heart is, or can be simply yoked by your every desire.

It is the second time to year.

How long will it take?

You stopped your growth despite every sign to push froward

Stopped by the phallic desire.

Stopped by that peculiar urge that peculiar sex thing.

It is the second time this year.

How many times does I take?

For you to look inward, and observe the patterns

The patterns of insatiability, movement, and boredom.

What is it?

Queerness? Blackness?

That wayward swag, refusing to be tied down by labels?

Is that why this one felt different, more fluid, more queer?

It is the second time this year.

That you tried to give in.

When will you give?
